Pat is on a deadline to deliver a new manuscript before the end of 2011 so please understand that the time he has to read Internet messages is sorely limited, even though they are passed onto him by his assistant. Remember, Pat has not caught up with the "digital world" - all of this was made clear in his book My Reading Life and expanded upon in his new blog, Pat's attempt to keep in touch with all of you while he is writing.
